Two programmes run in parallel so that residents do not have to travel to be heard. Prajavani is the standing grievance sitting, where complaints are received, recorded and routed to the department that can act on them.
Shubhodayam Gaddiannaram is the morning round through the colonies — walking a stretch, seeing the drain or the streetlight or the garbage point that has been reported, and speaking with the households affected. A good deal of what reaches the Prajavani register starts on one of these walks.
